Dave Coldwell

Born in India in 1976, Coldwell moved to Sheffield at a young age – and made his boxing debut aged 20. A promising domestic flyweight, he finished his career in 2000 with a pro record of 6-13. Coldwell move into training and managing following his retirement, eventually setting up a boxing gym in Rotherham.

Involved in matters inside and outside of the ring, Coldwell has managed fighters such as Curtis Woodhouse, Jerome Wilson and Tony Bellew. He was also Bellew’s trainer as well as Derek Chisora, the McDonnell brothers and Anthony Fowler.

He currently coaches Jordan Gill, Hopey Price & Lerrone Richards. Coldwell’s biggest achievement as a coach came on a spine tingling night at Everton F.C’s Goodison Park as he led the huge Everton fan Tony Bellew to the WBC world cruiserweight championship. The pair then followed that up with 2 huge victories over Bellew’s British rival in former heavyweight & cruiserweight World champion David Haye.
